Most Frequently Asked Pumping Breastmilk Questions
I’ve been exclusively pumping breastmilk to feed Harlee for the past 5.5 months. It’s hard, it’s a lot, it’s not easy, and every day I feel like I have more and more questions or hear from people who have questions. So I’ve compiled this blog post with the most frequently asked pumping breastmilk questions based on my own personal experience and research!
Where do I get a breast pump?
Before you purchase a breast pump, check with your insurance because most cover the cost of the breast pump and send it to you 30 days before your due date! Walmart and Target also have frequent sales on pumps if you want an inexpensive second one, especially one to travel with.
Which breast pump should I use?
This is a personal decision. Many people use either the Medela PISA or the Spectra 1 or 2. Unfortunately, without being able to try it before purchasing, it’s a lot of trial and error and seeing what your body responds to. I used the Medela PISA for 3 months while I still nursed, but once I switched to , my body wasn’t responding as well to it. I switched to the Bella Baby pump which is from Amazon. Buyer be warned, the suction is extreme, and I love it. It empties my breasts out better than the Medela.
