How To Create a New Habit
Whether it’s meal prepping, going to the gym, or writing a blog post it’s all about creating a habit and sticking with it! So today I’m sharing how to create a new habit in your life!
The habit is the end. So we need to go back to the beginning. To create a new habit we have to have a goal. Without that we don’t have the motivation or the purpose behind what we’re doing. So the first step to creating a new habit is to have a goal.
Some goals include:
- meal prep
- going to the gym
- saving money
- writing a blog post (or a book)
- reading
- meditating
So now that we have our goals we need a trigger that will get us started! A trigger can be a day of the week or a time of day, or a location. If you want to go to the gym in the morning, then the trigger is your alarm clock going off. For me, I enjoy meal prepping early in the morning so I have the rest of my day free and I also like grocery shopping before the crowds. So my trigger is Sunday at 7:30am when my alarm goes off so I can be at the grocery store when it opens.
The behavior is doing the thing to work towards your goal. So going to the grocery store, going to the gym, opening your computer to start writing, or purchasing a new…
